Compression Stockings. What’s the difference?

At Footpoint Podiatry, we are pleased to announce our involvement with providing Sigvaris medical compression garments to men and women. They have fulfilled a vision to be able to supply the perfect compression stocking and appropriate support stockings for all relevant medical indications and life situations.

Sagvaris compression stockings are available in three different classes –

Class 1 – Mild Compression (18 to 21mmHg)

If you require compression for travelling (thrombosis), tired aching legs, mild oedema/varicosity, or to prevent varicosity during pregnancy, then a Class 1 compression stocking will provide the level of compression you desire.

Class 2 – Moderate Compression (23 to 32mmHg)

If you require compression for varicose veins with a tendency to oedema, chronic venous insufficiency, post recovery from leg ulceration, post vein surgery, varices during pregnancy, then a Class 2 compression stocking will provide the level of compression you desire.

Class 3 – Firm Compression (34 to 46 mmHg)

If you require compression for severe varicose veins with oedema, severe chronic venous insufficiency, post thrombotic syndrome or lymphoedema, then a Class 3 compression stocking will provide the level of compression you desire.

In addition to the compression classes, Sagvaris offers a number of differing product types which incorporate specific materials and designs based on what the individual requires. At Footpoint Podiatry, we offer each type of Venosan product in a number of styles, sizes and level of compression.

Here at Footpoint Podiatry, we are trained in the measurement and fitting of Sigvaris products and are even able to organise a custom-made product for you if required. If you have any questions or would like to know more, come visit us at Footpoint Podiatry today!
